| Job Description: |
Responsible for the day-to-day operations, assignments and direct field supervision of IHTs on D4 Projects, and as needed for RCC projects. Conduct performance evaluations for IHTs. Responsible to coordinate daily with, and support D4 Projects Area Superintendents, Supervisors, with IH Technicians/IH equipment during D&D construction activities.
Responsible for the administration of the NIOSH 582 fiber counting, and exposure notifications, QA/QC program to include documentation of mentoring and associated Industrial Hygiene Technician Training Program.
Responsible for coordination of the IHPAT and Laboratory Round-Robin programs.
Responsible for Staffing and tracking overtime for IHTs.
Responsible for developing and training the Industrial Hygiene Technicians to the Industrial Hygiene Program requirements (to include formal training and On-the-Job Training (OJT) and evaluations.)
Responsible for managing the timely completion and approval of IHT time records.
Responsible for the collection and timely reporting of data to Project Industrial Hygienist.
Responsible for the implementation of IHWI procedures, work instructions, OJT/OJE, and IH documentation.
Ensure IH instruments, IH Lab maintenance is performed by IHT ie., Calibration timely and maintenance is performed as required.
Assist with Labor Agreement issues.
Coordinate of the Industrial Hygiene Technician Training Program.
Assist in the development of the On-the-Job training packages for the Industrial Hygiene Technicians.
Monitor and maintain safe working environment.
Review Industrial Hygiene documentation for technical content, accuracy, completion, and professionalism.
Assist Project personnel in the development of work plans and procedures for activities related to the D4 Project scope.
Assist in Self-Assessment Programs associated with the Industrial Hygiene Program to include implementing corrective actions.
Assist with respiratory protection program (maintenance, troubleshooting, training, etc).
Provide technical Industrial Hygiene support to ongoing D4 field activities.
Develop and write IH work control documents
Assist in the development of the Industrial Hygiene Program, as required.
Research and evaluate new IH instrumentation, respiratory equipment and other associated equipment.
Interface with RCC Project staff.
Other duties and assignments as directed.

A.S. degree, in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or a related field, or a combination of education and experience is preferred. A minimum of 5 years Industrial Hygiene field experience is required. A minimum of 2 years experience in respiratory protection selection, respirator maintenance program, to include PAPRs, is preferred. Experience in training is preferred. A minimum of 1 year Supervisory experience is preferred. Previous experience supervising of Bargaining Unit personnel is preferred.
Manufacturer or documented training on Industrial Hygiene instrumentation is preferred. A NIOSH 582 Fiber Counting certification is preferred. QA/QC experience in fiber counting and exposure notification is preferred. Experience in writing/developing work control and training documents is preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a government vehicle. Must be able to work in radiological areas and hazardous waste sites. Must be able to demonstrate ability to access all locations, including unimproved remote locations. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to wear required Personal Protection Equipment.
Must be able to obtain and maintain Hanford Site Access requirements.
Ability to perform the essential duties of the position.
