Coordinator Special Programs - Occupational Safety & Health, Safety & Compliance Facilities & Services University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
The Division of Safety & Compliance, within Facilities & Services at the University of Illinois, is responsible for ensuring that the University operations and activities comply with federal, state, and local environmental and occupational safety & health requirements. Safety & Compliance seeks to fill a full-time Coordinator Special Programs - Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) position. The Coordinator Special Programs -OSH is responsible for assisting with developing and implementing programs to ensure campus compliance with applicable safety regulations and to promote safety on campus. Duties and responsibilities include:
* Plan, organize, develop and implement OSH program elements.
* Formulate recommendations for the OSH policies and procedures.
* Maintain liaison with local, state and federal regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health codes, standards and regulations.
* Assist with the assessment and prioritization of budgetary needs for OSH.
* Assist with the development of goals, vision and strategic plans for OSH.
* Participate in the OSH 24-hour emergency response program.
* Expand knowledge, maintain technical expertise and keep abreast of relevant scientific and professional developments in OSH.
This position requires a bachelor's degree with substantial course work in science, engineering or technology; and relevant experience in occupational safety and health, preferably at least 5 years. An advanced degree in a relevant field of science, engineering, or technology preferred.
Salary is commensurate with demonstrated ability and experience. This is a full-time 12 month academic professional appointment. The proposed starting date is as soon as possible following the close date.
