Job Description:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Demonstrated ability to communicate correlation between strong safety results and the financial success of the organization to all sectors operational leadership.

Assist in the evaluation of results of all related audits including those conducted by corporate, client staff, and by state and regulatory agencies. Provide the vision to use these results to evaluate present programs and the creation of future initiatives.

Ensure compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Oversees the preparation, maintenance, and updating all practice specific policy and procedure manuals.

Coordinate and oversee safety and DOT training activities, develops, prepares and conducts training. Review reports of vehicular, passenger accidents for determination of cause and preventability, identifying potential trends. Using this data, develop cutting edge accident prevention programs to prevent accidents in the future.

Collaborate with Sector and Senior Leadership to secure support for safety programs to be executed throughout the organization.

Collaborate with the training department; provide input in the creation of Best in class safety training materials.

Ability to speak to and train large and small groups of employees or clients and poses the ability to handle media relations for EH&S issues/accidents.

Ensure all safety related documentation (active to archive) is managed and maintained in compliance with regulatory requirements..

Maintain, update, and communicate the content of the Company’s Injury and Illness Prevention Plan.

Develop a process and maintain a program to support Company’s project related activities

Job Requirements:

Candidate will have a minimum of 10+ years experience in a comparable industry directly managing the EH&S program.

Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Safety and Health management or related major, preferably have a Masters degree.

CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist, required, CDS (Certified Director of Safety) and/or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) designation preferred.

Good technical understanding of government regulations and insurance requirement.

Excellent communication skills (writing and verbal).

Ability to travel 40+% of the time.

Educational or experience with accounting, budgets, managing finances to assure proper management of allocated funds.

Proficient in relevant computer use for reports, spreadsheets, internet searches for technical information.

Experience managing direct reports and influence management over non reporting personnel.
